- My partner and I are in a constant war about cutting down the woods to plant grass for his dairy. I think there is a way to balance trees and pasture, however although I have read a lot of material on line I need the skills to make a realistic plan. We live on a dry sandy island off the coast of Massachusetts, we do not have good pasture in the summer, I think silvopasture might be a viable alternative than the usual planting of cool season grasses ( that don't seem to work here).
