 pasture systems on farms in the Northeastern United States is not well
  documented. This webinar will showcase the results of research invest
 igating silvopasture practices in New York and New England. The object
 ive of this study was to gather baseline data to describe silvopasture
  practices and perspectives in the Northeastern United States. To acco
 mplish this, we investigated the structure, management of, and reasons
  for use of silvopastures in New York and New England through a series
  of interviews and inventories on 20 farms purposefully chosen as prac
 ticing silvopasture.\n The webinar will begin with a rational for the
  study of silvopasture in the region. This will be followed by an over
 view of the research methods used in this project. The body of the web
 inar will highlight silvopasture systems documented on regional farms,
  reasons for their use, and areas in need of further research. The des
 ign of this webinar is geared toward a diverse audience of farmers, fo
 resters, extension professionals, and researchers.  Images of regiona
 l silvopastures will be relied on to enhance participants’ understan
 ding of the concepts covered. The last 15-20 minutes of the webinar wi
 ll be reserved for questions from participants. \n This research was
  funded by the Northeastern States Research Cooperative. The host will
  be Joe Orefice, an Assistant Professor in the School of Natural Resou
 rce Management and Ecology at Paul Smith’s College (PSC). Concurrent
  to his work at PSC, Joe is a PhD candidate of John Carroll’s at the
  University of New Hampshire with a research focus in Northeastern US 
 silvopastures. A strong believer in applied research, his academic wor
 k in silvopasture is partially integrated into North Branch Farm, a di
 versified livestock and vegetable farm he owns and operates in Saranac
 , NY (www.adkfigs.com).  This webinar highlights his most recent work
  to document silvopasture systems on farms across NY and New England.\
