DESCRIPTION:This three day workshop will utilize the living landscapes
  of Wellspring Forest Farm, Edible Acres, and Twisted Tree Farm to exp
 lore a wide range of examples, approaches, and goals for nursery produ
 ction. Tour these well established sites and learn first hand while en
 joying good company, meals, and conversation. Build paradigms for grow
 ing trees and the skills to improve your practice of tree growing. Exa
 mples of systems we will explore:\n\n\nTree Guilds with annuals and pe
 rennials at Edible Acres\n\nChestnut and Hazelnut production on heavy 
 clay soils at Twisted Tree\n\nWillow fodder block establishment with 3
 D Deer Fence at Wellspring\n\nSoil building practices at each site as 
 the foundation for success\n\nCollecting seed, cuttings, and other pro
 pagation techniques\n\nApproaches to sales, sharing, and distribution 
 of plant material to the community\n\n\n\nNote: this class is partiall
 y or wholly subsidized by funding through NE-SARE, please indicate on 
 registration if you are actively farming or stewarding land in the reg
