As a Nutrient Management Planner I have to keep myself up to date on all current farm practices that way I can provide the best possible answers to questions from farmers that I work with. I work with a wide variety of farms within the NYC watershed and with the many hardships that the milk market has experienced many dairy farms are converting to beef or other diversified livestock as a means to make a profit. Being able to convert old farm land or forrest land into silvopasture to make a profit could be a huge benefit to people we work with. I want to be able to share this information and stay informed myself!
