Event Description

Mechanical Leaf-Separation, Harvest Yields, Ruminant Intake & Performance, Changes in Milk, & Leaf Tannin Update

Leafy canopy harvests provide storable forage for livestock, and offer biodiversity, climate moderation, and soil moisture regulation benefits, whether in opened forest, fields with trees, or along woody edges. As part of the free NOFA MA “Go Nuts” on-line Agroforestry Discussion series, on Thursday, May 2nd from 7 to 8:30 PM, Shana Hanson, 3 Streams Farm (Belfast, ME) will present a fast and visual summary of results from Northeast SARE Projects FNE22-013 and FNE24-083, plus preliminary results from collaborative research, all described below, for the first 45 minutes. For 45 minutes following, all can join the collaborating researchers for Q & A and discussion.
