Silvopastures, the deliberate integration of livestock and trees in pastures, have been identified as potentially important land use systems for mitigating climate impacts via carbon sequestration. A recent study investigated the carbon impact of implementing silvopasture after trees were planted in silvopasture systems in the northeastern United States. Join Dr. Joseph Orefice will describe the study and the changes measures in ecosystem level carbon stocks of silvopastures developed from planting trees into existing treeless pastures.
