The last post were recent photos of a silvopasture harvest in Petersham, MA.  The harvest is being carried out as a whole tree harvest with the tops and softwood pulp being chipped and sent to a biomass plant.

The photos are in an area where the oak and hickory is being left and the red maple, hemlock, and pine is being removed.  There is a fair amount of good growing stock in this area resulting in a residual stocking level higher than in adjacent stand and more in line with some of the recommendations made by Brett and Pete.
