I live on my great great grandparents land. 35 acres of woods. They were blacksmiths and farmers. When I grew up here (50 years ago), there were still remnants of blueberry bushes, which they picked and sold at markets. I have sheep and very little grass. I would like to steward the woods for the next generations putting in place a management plan for the next 20-30 years. I want to manage trees and livestock, and manage trees for healthy forests. I’d like to learn about planting black locust for future fence posts, biochar, carbon sequestration, lots of things. I love to take the Cornell small farms classes.
